At the end rope insured. The most difficult piece is quite near the beginning. If that was ok you can do it. Gloves would be useful.
Almost 1000 meters in altitude, including the final section of the climb to the hut, mostly secured with ropes and with climbing passages. I felt like I was in the DAV climbing hall, but without any additional safety equipment. In the snowfield you can see a chamois and an ibex. The chamois at the end was only a few meters away from us. That's what you experience when you leave the hut at 4 p.m. 😁

From the village of Ailefroide you enter the western valley. The walk runs through different landscapes and ends in the high mountains at Refuge du Célé, with a view of the glaciers Boeufs Rouges et Du Célé.
The first part you walk through the forest, where with a bit of luck you can encounter chamois
