Wide open spaces, moated castles and historic towns — Warendorf’s park landscape

From Telgte, the 76-kilometre circuit goes first to Warendorf, then to Füchtorf and finally via Ostbevern back to Telgte. You cycle through the beautiful Münsterland park landscape, admire magnificent moated castles and visit historical places with picturesque town centers and imposing churches. And all this on very good cycle paths and under the wonderfully wide sky of the Münsterland.

After starting in Telgte you cycle through a gorgeous meadow landscape to Freckenhorst with its impressive collegiate church and the beautiful Westerholt Castle. Only a short distance further you reach Warendorf, the next pearl on the chain of this beautiful bike tour. After a visit to the medieval market square, continue across the Ems in the direction of Füchtorf. There you can reach Harkotten Castle, which is well worth seeing, with a short detour. Although it is not open to the public, you can visit the garden and enjoy coffee and cake in the café there.

Ostbevern, too, with the magnificent moated castle of Loburg and the beautiful gardens scattered throughout the city, invites you to explore and linger before returning to Telgte. The best way to discover Telgte's many sights is on the culture trail along the red cobblestones before you stop off in one of the numerous restaurants and pubs and let this wonderful day come to an end.
