Eiszeit-Tour – Baiersbronner Himmelswege

According to Baiersbronn Touristik, the ice age tour to Lake Huzenbach is a “high-contrast two-valley tour to the legendary Lake Huzenbach in the national park. The view of the lake and the way back through the Dobelbach valley with a waterfall and huge Dutch fir trees make the hike a real highlight". If the weather is nice, we set off from the Huzenbach train station and walk the paved path along the "Grammelwiese" in the direction of Schwarzenberg. On the Reinhardsbrücke we cross the Murg at the west end of Huzenbach. A forest path called "Seebachsträßchen" leads up the Seebach valley to Lake Huzenbach. The Huzenbacher See lies alone in the valley basin. We linger around the lake and by the lake. Only a few like-minded people today have a similar hiking idea. We are in the national park and accordingly the trees are crisscrossing, also over the path. However, they are mostly processed with a saw for easier hiking. At the top of the slope, a forest path leads to the lake view and we look down to the Huzenbacher See and the Murg Valley. A little further on the Seensteig we leave the route of the Murgleiter and walk along the Kleemisswegle through a badly damaged forest to the Kleemisshütte. Here we have a beautiful view of the Dobelbach valley. The descent into the valley via the waterfall path begins at the Kleemisshütte (we did not notice a waterfall, however). The path is probably used regularly, but in parts it is overgrown with thorns and the like. Long trousers and long sleeves as clothing are advisable here and be careful: ticks. The narrow path zigzags steeply down and crosses the Schwarzmiss forest path. Now we are in a fairytale fir forest with a moss-covered forest floor. After a short stretch along a forest path, we go down on a small forest path, initially high above the Dobelbach to the bridge over the stream at the Rosshütte. From here it is not far to the Murg valley and the east end of Huzenbach.

We set off at 8:30 a.m. I parked at the information and fire station in Huzenbach. The first 2 km were really cold. Almost as the name suggests. I followed the forest road to the lake. Then I went up the trail that had everything. So many fallen trees along the way. It was all over the place, up and down, or around it. From the top, there was a very beautiful view down to the lake. The rest of the trail had everything that narrow and sometimes slippery paths had to offer, both on the ascent and descent. A nice, shorter tour.

With very chilly temperatures, we were drawn to Hutzenbach today to hike another tour out of the Baiersbronn hiking heaven. First we went on a wide path along the creek to the Hutzenbacher See. Today, of course, there were no water lilies to admire :-). The trail went up to the Dachsbau / Seeblick, where we took a break at the Hutzenbacher Hütte. You're rarely alone here, but today we had the panorama all to ourselves. From there we continued to the Klemisshütte and via the Wasserfall-Wegle we soon reached the Kammerlochwasslerfall. From then on we descended again via narrow paths.

Super tour mainly on small forest paths. Only the entrance to the Huzenbacher See is on the forest road! Great views!

A crazy tour, because I missed signs again and one was completely missing. 🤣 According to the description of the tour, I walked towards Huzenbachsee. So the first 5.5 km or so goes straight up 500 meters. 🥵 I had already started walking at 8.30 a.m. At the lake you have the option of taking a shortcut. I dutifully followed the sign. 😅 On the other side I thought there was something in my drinking water. I suddenly saw double. But twins just overtook me. 🤣 I then met twins in terms of clothing at the Hutzenbachausblick. 2 people crossing the Alps out of 24, and a couple in matching outfits. The path was not that busy, only where other main paths met. The last part led along the main road. I decided to take the side road because I was fed up with the traffic. I can only recommend doing the tour the other way round. That way you have the water treading pool at the end. The trail is also easier to manage going up. The further down you go, the more wet sections there are. It was so overgrown that you had to be very careful where you stepped. Slippery grass and roots didn't make it any better. So it's better to crawl up than stumble down. Or more likely to land on your stomach than bruise your tailbone. 😅 After the hike we went to the Schwarzenbachtalsperre to cool off. 😉

Super 👍 super nice hiking tour! A leisurely start via the Baiersbronner Himmelsweg to the Rosshütte. Then we continued along a beautiful path up to the Kleemisshütte. At the beginning there were thick clouds of fog in the forest, but the higher we got the sun appeared and we could look at the clouds of fog from above at the hut 😊 Then continue to the waterfall, also along narrow paths running along the slope. Continue along small paths and forest paths to the first viewpoint of Lake Huzenbach. A great view of the lake and the Black Forest National Park. Then came the descent to the lake. Not for outdoor beginners! Narrow, rocky and in some places the path became a small stream. Totally awesome 😃 We had a lot of fun, but caution is advised and sure-footedness is absolutely necessary. When we arrived at the lake we had a snack. After we refreshed ourselves, we continued the last third of the tour. Leisurely stroll along the Seebach, chat about the great nature experience, back to Huzenbach. A great day for us 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️🐶 A challenging and beautiful tour!
