Small, easy-going circular hike through the Black Forest National Park. Beautiful, varied sections and views. > Worth it Info: https://www.nationalpark-schwarzwald.de/de/erleben/nationalparkzentrum Worth a walk
Today, a short loop, Ruhestein, Wildseeblick, Darmstädter Hütte, and back down the other side. Unfortunately, I've run out of blueberry pie again 😞
We hiked with the school children (grades 1-4) from Ruhestein to the Darmstädter Hütte and back. For some of the children, it was their first time so high up in the Black Forest, with a fantastic view! First, they spotted a squirrel 🐿️, then loads of mushrooms 🍄🟫🍄 and deadwood. They kept bending down to collect stones. Some had red spots or were somehow special. Then we came to the spot where you can see the Wildsee lake clearly from above. We listened to the birds, and one boy even discovered animal tracks. Then we reached the Darmstädter Hütte, where all the children were treated to ice cream. The way back was very quick (because it was downhill), and we easily caught the number 400 bus. It wasn't cold at all, and the sky was blue and the sun was shining the whole time ☀️! This makes work fun again, even if some children needed a little encouragement now and then. But I'm sure they'll never forget this hike!
After a visit to the Ruhestein National Park Center (highly recommended), take a short walk. We actually wanted to go to Wildsee, but the path is closed until mid-March.
Today we had a little cozy round with lots of sun and plenty of time😎☀️
Today we went into the snow as planned, in the hope that there wasn't so much going on and we were lucky. There were a few tobogganists at the Ruhestein, but there was very little traffic around the back to the Darmstädter Hütte. On the way back we were parallel to the B500. This is the signposted route from the Ruhestein to the hut. There was a bit more going on, but it was not too bad. Great little tour with lots of snow and sledding ☃️. The weather could have been better, but if there was precipitation, then only in the form of snow ❄🌨 and that's possible 😊.
I like this round because it's great to go with the family. In the beginning you can take a retro single-seater chairlift up the mountain for a few euros. At the top, the path runs on a plateau and you get a reward in the form of a great view of the Wildsee. If you follow the path, you get to the Darmstädter Hütte - the prices are touristy, but the service is very nice and it's a good place to sit. The path is also good to walk in autumn, as all paths are paved. Have fun chasing :)
