This route was planned by komoot.
Since we took the cable car up the Burgberg, you have to deduct about 500m of distance and 150m of altitude difference from the recorded route.
Today we went to Bad Harzburg to float with the BaumSchwebeBahn from the Großer Burgberg to the treetop path. That's the plan. Unfortunately, masses of people took the cable car up the mountain and were all standing in front of us. So we walked the entire loop, which wasn't bad. The treetop path is really beautifully laid out and worth seeing.
Sunday hike with 2 colleagues: After about 1.5 hours by car, we started at the parking lot of the Burgberg cable car in Bad Harzburg. Arrived on the big castle hill, there was a fantastic view at the Cannossa column. From here we hiked towards Rabenklippe, past a lot of dead wood in beautiful weather and lots of sun. In the Waldgasthaus Rabenklippe, sitting on the terrace in the sun, we had delicious deer goulash for lunch. After refreshment we went to the viewpoint Rabenklippe. This viewpoint is a full recommendation. A few meters further, then the lynx enclosure. The lynxes were then searched for from the observation platform. We were lucky, one was in the shade of a big tree. From now on it went downhill, past beautiful vantage points with a view of the Brocken. Along the Kaltetalbach we arrived at the treetop path. Since the pay machine was broken, we were unfortunately unable to visit it. Online booking was also not possible due to the lack of cell phone reception. So we continued below the treetop path towards the valley, past the fairytale forest, back to the parking lot at the Burgbergbahn. The idea for this tour came from the hiking collection of the Harz National Park.
Today we finally redeemed Micha's birthday present: a hike with our nieces😍🫶 It was beautiful, the sun was shining☀️the Harz was already in autumn look🍁 and we saw the lynxes 👏🥳 A beautiful day 🤩
It's a shame that Komoot keeps logging me out. I don't feel like describing the tour again now. Unfortunately I got to the cable car too late. Unfortunately not the light clouds that were promised. Unfortunately the hut at Rabenklippe is full. The bus is still going to Rabenklippe this weekend and hasn't had a winter break yet. But... Great food! Dry (as predicted) and a great atmosphere at Rabenklippe. First 3-generation Harz tour with a stroller. All's well that ends well!
We see very varied areas of the forest. We saw a lynx in the enclosures.
The starting point was the pedestrian bridge in Bad Harzburg. I actually wanted to take the cable car to the castle hill, but I didn't have a mask with me! This made the ascent to the castle hill a bit more strenuous, but at least I could breathe freely!
we had chosen the lynx trail. The weather today started sunny and slightly cloudy. We went up with the cable car 🚠. Once at the top it was totally windy. The cable car staff said the weather wasn't nice for hiking. But I didn't think it was bad today. Halfway through the tour it started to snow ... a forest restaurant was just right where we came in☕️🍰🍜. Directly behind it is a "lynx enclosure ... I wanted to define it, it was probably crumbled in the cave." Then we went down the mountain to the 🌳Tree Top Path🌳 At the end there was a glass platform ... yes I did it with fear of heights. Nice day 🤗

The brush ears are back in the Harz forests. But they are very shy. So that everyone can admire them, we have built a lynx display enclosure
