Hiking
Separated from the city of Aachen only by a piece of forest, there is a small village in the north of East Belgium that has retained its typical Belgian authenticity over the years, despite the fact that it has many German residents. The tranquility and rural atmosphere combined with the proximity to the big city and good transport links is just one explanation for the popularity of Hauset. Here you can live very well and of course also hike, as the place is surrounded by a lot of untouched nature. Over almost eight kilometers you will discover so much beauty that you will live on it for a long time.
It starts in the center of Haaret, where there is both parking and a bus stop. After just a few steps you will find yourself in the countryside and immerse yourself in the deep forest that surrounds Hauset. Small fishing ponds, panoramic views over the Göhltal and the nationally known Hammerbrücke await you on your way. This impressive building shaped the landscape as early as the 18th century. At that time it was one of the largest bridge structures in the world. It was destroyed during World War II but later rebuilt.

In my opinion, the title of the tour is a bit too much, there are definitely nicer "pleasure tours" in the area.

With a light wind and enough shade, we were able to really enjoy the pleasure tour

A very short 8 km, but as its name suggests, a most charming walk.
We leave Stembert in the rain and we will return in the rain but we will walk in dry conditions under a seasonal sky and autumnal atmosphere.
