Today, in bright sunshine, we took the R505 from Splügen toward the Upper Rhine and the northern portal of San Bernadino. We first cycled south on the R505 along the banks of the Upper Rhine, through forests and meadows. What a relief to cycle in temperatures around 22°C in the shade. A great bike path, which I used to Nufenen. From Nufenen, we continued on the road to the Upper Rhine, through the town, and on to the northern portal of San Bernadino. It got warmer and warmer, and it was over 30°C again. There was hardly any traffic, just a few cyclists with and without luggage. We took a short break and then cycled back on the road to Splügen. It was very nice. There were many vintage cars on the road today, including the open-top Büssing from DON.
