These 21 kilometers from Pouilly-sous-Charlieu take small roads that wind through hedgerows, meadows and farms. This cycle route uses rural roads, so it is accessible to all types of bikes.
The 250 meter climb will take you to the Grand Couvert des Perches, near Saint-Hilaire-sous-Charlieu, the highest point of this loop. The Grands Couverts are buildings with a large four-sided roof, specific to the region and this one is one of the last around. It is also possible to visit it during the summer period.
From the promontory of Saint-Hilaire-sous-Charlieu, enjoy the panorama over the plain of Roanne and the Monts de la Madeleine. You can also see the castles of Montrenard and Poyet, which are also visible from the cycle route. It is advisable to be vigilant during the descent from Saint-Hilaire-sous-Charlieu, because the slope is steep and it ends in a fork at a right angle.
