Alpgues loop – Verwall adventure area

On the good nine-kilometer circular route, you can enjoy fantastic insights into the almost untouched landscape of the Verwall European protected area, the largest of its kind in Vorarlberg. Starting at the mountain station of the Grasjochbahn, where the Grasjoch Hütte is also located, you first ascend steadily on the Wormser Höhenweg towards Roßbergjoch.

With a view of St. Gallenkirch, you reach the highest point of the hike at the Joch and then descend to the two small Alpgues lakes. The surrounding peaks are reflected in their clear water. The perfect place for a break is the picturesque Alpe Alpgues with its wooden huts and grazing cows, which you reach a short time later.

From the Alpgues, the path leads uphill across open terrain back to the starting point, the Grasjochbahn mountain station. There, the terrace of the Grasjoch Hütte awaits you with a view of the Silvretta massif.
