Hiking
Prepare for a challenging hike to Vetta del Resegone, covering 5.8 miles (9.4 km) with a significant 2308 feet (703 metres) of elevation gain, typically taking around 4 hours and 35 minutes. The route is considered difficult, featuring progressively rockier terrain as you ascend, with sections requiring you to use your hands for scrambling. You'll even find a short part equipped with a rope for assistance. As you climb, enjoy continuous panoramic views of Lake Como and the city of Lecco, expanding to include distant peaks like Mount Rosa and the Orobie Alps from higher elevations.
You can start this hike from Piani d'Erna, easily reached by cable car, which helps you bypass some initial climbing. From the cable car station, you'll connect to paths that lead towards the rock walls of Resegone. This difficult route demands good fitness, sure-footedness, and sturdy shoes, so come prepared for alpine conditions. While the research doesn't specify seasonal closures, always check local conditions before you go, especially for a trail of this nature.
Mount Resegone is one of Lombardy's most iconic mountains, recognized for its distinctive, serrated profile that inspired its name, meaning 'big saw'. Near the summit, you'll find Rifugio Azzoni, a great spot to rest and take in the unparalleled views. The presence of technical sections, including scrambling and a roped segment, adds an exciting element to this hike, making it a memorable experience for experienced hikers.

I walked the via ferrata on August 4, 2022 with my 11-year-old son. It is truly spectacular and in excellent condition. Recently reopened and "restructured" very well. It was a little sweetened compared to the original one but it is still a demanding itinerary, not recommended for beginners. Attention to the not very visible attack (at least for me), there is a sign but I think the path is new and still not well identifiable.
Do not look at my map, the piece in a straight line I was disconnected ... in the photos there is the right turn. Anyway fantastic ride !!!
