April 15, 2022, LDB - Lahn Dill Berglandpfad - Vier Täler Tour

https://naturpark.lahn-dill-bergland.de/wandern/extratouren/viertaelerweg/ A relaxed tour around Günterod on the extra tour of the Lahn Dill Berglandpfad. Unfortunately the road is in bad condition. In the forest, all the paths are very furrowed by working machines and there are countless trees on the path. But work is underway to restore everything. Otherwise, the path was very well signposted and we actually didn't need any navigation. Just a beautiful day in the bright sunshine ☀️

Four Valleys Trail in the Lahn-Dill Uplands – Four Valleys, Many Impressions The Lahn-Dill Uplands Nature Park is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and diverse hiking regions in Hesse. A tour that impressively demonstrates this is the Four Valleys Trail – an approximately 13-kilometer-long extra tour that lives up to its name: traversing four quiet and secluded valleys. Accompanying streams, varied forest passages, pristine meadow landscapes, and magnificent views ensure a nature experience with lasting impressions. We hiked the loop in the opposite direction to the recommended route – which proved to be an advantage right from the start: At the small, long-established Klingenhöfer's butcher shop (metzgerei.klingelhoefers.de/), we were able to stock up on freshly made sandwiches for the tour. A good starting point before heading straight into the green forest area. Here, it's all about crossing planks, marveling at giant trees, and taking a deep breath. Soon, the landscape opens up, revealing vast meadows that are now—at the perfect time of year—a lush green. Broom blooms everywhere in bright yellow. There's a buzzing, chirping, and a rich fragrance. We experience a special highlight at Schönscheid, the highest elevation of the tour at 490 meters. Sitting under a cherry tree, we enjoy the impressive view—all the way to Hoherodskopf and, we think, even Frankfurt. The wildlife is particularly friendly on this day: We encounter hares, donkeys, calves, horses, sheep—and even an adder that leisurely crosses our path. The official route begins and ends in the spa gardens of Bad Endbach, where tired feet can relax in the Kneipp pool or on the barefoot path. But we'll end the tour a little further away – in the lovingly run "Mein kleines Café" (kleines-cafe.net) on a side street near the Bergland School. Homemade cakes and tarts are served here – a sweet ending that allows time to reflect on the many impressions. The Viertälerweg is a tour for those who love peace and quiet, seek the unspoiled, and are inspired by the interplay of forests, meadows, hills, and expanses. A clear recommendation for anyone who wants to experience the Lahn-Dill Uplands from its quiet, impressive side.

https://naturpark.lahn-dill-bergland.de/wandern/extratouren/viertaelerweg/ The Viertälerweg around Günterod leads for about 16 km up and down forest and meadow paths through the most beautiful green landscapes. The highlight of this tour is the 490 meter high Schönscheid, which offers incredible panoramic views deep into the Taunus. The Schönscheid refuge invites you to linger and when the weather is nice the view is magnificent. At the end of the tour there is a nice wading pool for tired feet so you can start the journey home refreshed. Other than that there is not much to see, apart from the beautiful nature and the odd path of course. Have a nice Sunday everyone 🙋🏻‍♂️ Collection LDB: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/collection/1444264/-ldb-lahn-dill-bergland

Parking opposite the community center in Bad Endbach (Bornweg).

Very nice tour. Varied and very beautiful hiking area. But currently the route is more like an obstacle course. Due to the storms in February 2022, many trees have fallen and are blocking the trail. Can only be recommended to a limited extent at the moment.

I started at the cemetery in Bad Endbach at a sunny 14° and walked the tour to the right. At the beginning, the very well signposted tour is very gravel-heavy.

Nice round, but after the rain some paths are difficult to walk due to forest work. Because not all the meadows have been mowed, it is best to wear high boots in bad weather. The trail markings are difficult to see in places, so the tour has become a little longer than the 15.9 km. However, I will run this tour again when it is dry.

Walked around to the right. From our starting point to Bad Endbach there are very beautiful paths through meadows and forests. From Bad Endbach more gravel and asphalt.
