Nant y Moch Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

It's a steep pull up out of Tal-y-bont, with a nice 1/2 mile section to recover afterwards before the steady gradient all the way to the top.

Nant-y-Moch Reservoir

Highlight • Structure

The reservoir flooded part of the valley of the River Rheidol and its headwaters and is named after the Nant-y-moch stream (in English = the pigs stream), which formerly flowed into the River Rheidol at this spot.

It's a great dark-sky spot if you're into astronomy / astro-photography.

Nant Y Moch Reservoir Trail

Highlight • Cycleway

One of the best double track trails in Wales for MTB or gravel riders. Ride through the valley alongside Nant Y Moch reservoir on the traffic free road, a good challenge on a gravel bike but not unrideable. It does get pretty wet here and you'll even find big puddles in summer so go easy. Enjoy this remote area of West Wales that I like to call 'Little Scotland'.

View of the Cambrian Mountains

Highlight • Viewpoint

This is a good add on segment to Mach 3 trail, though you'll need to ride out & back. No mobile signal, if that is relevant for you.

View of Nant y Moch

Highlight • Trail

After the ford at the end of the rocky section from Nant y Moch reservoir, the trail gets easier and rolls over the hills near Plynlimon. Before you enter the forest (if you are heading towards Mach) look back for a beautiful view of the open moorland.

Anglers' Gravel Track

Highlight • Forest

A great gravel ride, leading through the woods and moors of grazing sheep.

Borth Beach

Highlight • Beach

Lovely, big, beach with sand and pretty shells. The flood defences create a lagoon area with shallow, safe water for paddling and swimming.
