Today I did my last "City Cycling Tour 2024" I was still 50 km away from the 1000 km in the last 3 weeks. The ambition to increase the 950 km to 1000 is getting stronger.💪 We started off in the Aper Fehrn area via Westerstederfeld - Ihorst - Aperfeld to Aper Tief. You can really relax here, it's so beautiful here by the water. On via Vreschen Bokel - Bokelermoor to Deternerlehe. Then back again via Südgeorgsfehn, past Jübberde to Klein Sander 🚣 I took a nice break there and then cycled on towards home via Hollriede - Hollwege - Halstrup. I took a few photos but somehow I always forget to take photos 🥴
We're on the road again for a long weekend! From Westerstede, we cycled into or around the Aper Fehn area! A very nice circular tour, along country roads and field paths! It's always impossible to avoid busy roads, but that was over quickly 😄! As long as there's a bike path, it's not so bad!
This tour on the day of departure of the one-week cycling holiday also showed us a lot about Ammerland and Emsland, above all nature. The Hengstforder Mühle and the art along the way were also beautiful and the closer we got to Westerstede, the more rhododendrons we could admire.

Today just followed the sign Aper Fehngebiet. Except for the part in Westerstede directly. I left that one out. Very nice tour.

Our round trip has its starting point in Westerstede. From here you cycle on completely flat paths through the wide fen landscape. We are accompanied by countless water trains, pass the Aper low, drive along the Nordloher low, the Barßeler low and the Jümme. We also accompany a part of the way the Südgeorgsfehnkanal and Augustfehnkanal. With wonderful impressions of the East Frisian landscape we reach Westerstede again.
