Beautiful day with clear skies at the end of November 2023. Departure from Como, then passing through Brunate. After passing Mount Boletto you arrive at a panoramic point; there are two ways to continue: an S2 which becomes S3, or the S2 which then becomes an S1 called Sentiero dei Faggi. The trail indicated the latter, although in autumn due to the many dry leaves it is not at all easy and requires a lot of attention so as not to run into hidden stones or slip into the valley. Furthermore, there are ropes to support yourself to facilitate crossing, which can be used during hiking (not with MTB). Among other things, although the area is very popular with runners and bikers, in this stretch the only bikers I met, in the opposite direction to me, were wearing full-face helmets and specific protection. Some very beautiful landscape spots. The path also passes through some very pleasant villages. 7 58%
Very nice route with a good part of the climb on asphalt and pavet up to the Volta lighthouse of Brunate and again up to the Cao hut. From here the road continues on concrete and dirt road and then after a last steep climb it definitively becomes a path. The latter does not have particularly technical passages and is well beaten. Between short descents and climbs you cross the beech trees (from which the path takes its name) and you arrive at a crossroads meeting a very bumpy dirt road. From here you go up a last steep ramp and then go down to the Mara hut. A mainly concrete mule track then takes us up to meet the paved road near Alpe del Vicerè. At this point it is all downhill until the state road that takes us back to Tavernerio. Link to the video: https://youtu.be/r9KSP2zQ9wQ

pleasant MC \ MC excursion in the area of the Larian triangle. departing from Albavilla, go up on asphalt to Brunate and then continue with an easy wide path until you pass Mount Boletto halfway up. if you want, you can climb to the top with a challenging climb. the climbs are almost all docile, except after Brunate which has a steep climb of medium length and some other more or less technical tear. the descent from Boletto is carried out on a path that is at times battered, with some more or less bad relaunches.
