This route was planned by komoot.
The trail is approximately 9.4 kilometers (5.8 miles) long and typically takes between 3 to 5 hours to complete, depending on your pace and how much time you spend enjoying the waterfalls.
This trail is considered of moderate difficulty. It requires good fitness and sure-footedness, especially on descents to the waterfalls. The difficulty can increase significantly after rainfall or during winter due to muddy and slippery conditions.
While generally accessible, its length and duration might be challenging for very young children. Beginners with good physical condition should be fine, but be prepared for some steep and potentially slippery sections, especially near the waterfalls.
The trail is famous for its seven natural pools, or 'gorgs', formed by the Torrent de la Cabana. Notable highlights include the Colomer Pool, which is the largest and deepest, the Petit Colomer Gorge, and the Gorg de la Tosca. Each gorg offers a unique natural bathing spot.
You will traverse diverse terrain, including natural paths, some paved or unpaved sections, and gravel. The route winds through pine and riparian forests, with descents to each of the seven 'gorgs'. Expect some challenging sections, particularly when wet.
The trail is beautiful year-round. Warmer months are ideal for swimming in the natural pools. In winter, the scenery transforms with stalactites forming on rock walls. To avoid crowds, consider visiting during weekdays or outside of peak summer season.
Yes, there is typically a paid parking area at Font del Querol (around €10 per car per day). During high season, an admission fee or eco-tax (around €5 per person) may also be required to access the trail.
The main parking area is located at Font del Querol. Please note that parking here usually incurs a fee, typically around €10 per car per day.
Generally, dogs are allowed on the trail, but they must be kept on a leash at all times to protect wildlife and ensure the safety of other hikers. Please be mindful of local regulations and clean up after your pet.
It's recommended to bring water, snacks, sun protection (hat, sunscreen), and appropriate footwear with good grip, especially if you plan to descend to the waterfalls or if conditions are wet. Swimwear is a good idea if you want to take a dip in the gorgs.
The trail can get very crowded, especially during summer, weekends, and holidays. To enjoy a more peaceful experience, consider visiting early in the morning, late in the afternoon, or on weekdays outside of peak tourist seasons.
10 euros parking fee plus 6 euros per person entrance fee for a hiking trail with waterfalls 🤔🫣 You can do it with the tourists 😜 As we were a bit unprepared for this tour, we paid the fee. We briefly got caught in a thunderstorm and Ann went for a quick swim 🏊🏼 🫢 In the end, we decided to take a different, shorter route back than planned because of the rain in order to get to today's accommodation in time. Our conclusion: Close to a tourist trap, a bit monothematic, so not a must-have. Probably rarely lonely at peak times 🙃 Be sure to pay attention to the fees/avoid them if necessary 😉 Original tour template and description from Adidas Terrex Link: https://www.komoot.de/tour/1295399647?ref=atd
Note: at the beginning there is a blue zone parking lot (they charge €10 all day). About 500m before there is a small polygon where you can park for free. On the day of the route the ecotax was not paid. We arrived at a quarter past eight, we were the first in the parking lot. When we left at a quarter past one the parking lot was full.
