Very nice hike.. be careful on the way back after the watering hole. Keep an eye on the GPS.
The long-awaited wish to hike in the Pyrenees is finally coming true. We are still hiking at lower altitudes, as there is still snow around 2000 m altitude. The circular hike starts in Pietrafita - the upper parking lots are subject to a fee, the parking lot in the village is not. We have magnificent views of various mountain ranges of the Pyrenees, which are still covered with snow. Due to the snowmelt, we have to detour from the hiking trail at times, as everything is extensively marshy and the stream is too high to cross. I just sank in with my left shoe. Along the beautiful, roaring stream below the lake, the slope becomes slippery and muddy. The sight of the blooming wild cherry trees with the snow-covered mountains looks heavenly. From the Sierra de la Partacua mountain range, Peña Telera stands out as the highest elevation at the eastern end. The wastewater and snowmelt from the mountain fronts, which are difficult to access, collect in the prettily situated lake, which is named after the small village. In addition, many yellow and purple Orchis mascula will be blooming in the coming weeks. On the way back, we also often have a view of the Embalse de Búbal (reservoir).
