May 1, 2025, Colle dell'Arpione + Via delle Slitte

Fantastic trail down from Arpione very flow. Be careful a section blocked by fallen trees before coming out at Madonna del Colletto. Passing it was a mess. The Via delle Slitte is beautiful.

Beautiful, panoramic, adventurous itinerary. All in the saddle. Climb to the pass along the new forest road. The forest where the single track winds down from the Colle towards the Stura Valley is very surreal. Free curls area... 😜😜😜

Nice loop, difficulty S3. The descent into the Desertetto valley is very fun.

Ascent: without problems, except for the last short section (the only one on the path) that comes out on Colle dell’Arpiola. They are a few hundred meters, but so steep that they can only be tackled with the maximum battery support (when you don't need to push, as in the beginning), Descent 1: the original trail trace is dug and destroyed by wild boars, as well as being stony and - in the plateau - overgrown with grass. At the end of the plateau you cross the brand new forest that from San Bernardo climbs, serving the mountain pastures, up to the Arpiola hill. It is not that the bottom of the road is a marvel, but those who want to avoid holes, rocks and stones can take it, perhaps even immediately at the collar. Descent2: the daring path that emerges on the valley floor (from San Bernardo it starts as a paved road, then tratturo) and immediately continues with the Arpetta walkway, it is very tough and more than once you go down from the saddle, even if for a few meters . The uneven, rocky and challenging surface is present even after the walkway, but no more narrow and steep hairpin bends.
