This route was planned by komoot.
The bus line between Perpignan and Banyuls is very practical: for €1 per trip you can go to a starting point for the tour or back at the end. In the pre-season the bus runs about once an hour.
Along the Sentier de Littoral is a nice route 😊 because there is a lot on offer here (that's why so many, many pictures 📷). The sea with its cliffs with hidden bays for swimming, beaches of small seaside resorts. In the background the mountains with some vineyards. Old fortifications from the old days or from WW2 can also be found here. A light wind from the sea helps (at least on my tour) to make the hot temperature bearable. Started in the port of Port Vendres via the Cap Bèar to Banyls sur Mer. There you can reward yourself in several cafés on the beach promenade with adjacent old hotels. You should also take a look around the streets of Banyuls. The route is not that easy, due to the constant up and down on protruding rock you should use sporty to hiking shoes 🥾.
This route hike along the beautiful Purple Coast has it all. Over a distance of 15 km, there are steep ascents and descents over stony paths at around 500 meters in altitude The effort is worth it, because the views along the rocky coast, the small bays and the beautiful villages are a dream We parked in Port Vendres at the cemetery and were able to take the bus back from Banyul sn the tourist information without any problems. There is a stop directly at the cemetery 👍
I was supposed to cycle from Argeles sur Mer to Portbou in Spain, but had a breakdown near Collioure. I parked my bike somewhere safe and decided to walk towards Spain. Not on the planned cycle route, but on the narrow rocky paths along the coast. Not everywhere equally vertigo-friendly, so this route was once and not again. So I enjoyed the view of the lighthouse, rocks, bays and coastal villages in the evening light extra hard ❤️
Great adventure with the kids. Hiked and climbed along the rocky coast for a day. Great performance from both of them. But now everyone is exhausted 😄
Demanding hike to Cap Béar, a little disappointing in its arrival at Port-Vendre and Collioure. Ideally, reach Collioure by the interior, in the middle of the vineyards.
After parking at our destination, Port-Vendres, we waited for the bus. According to the tourist information, there was a strike today, but the bus to Banyuls-sur-Mer still arrived on time 👌 The coastal path is an absolute dream... with the sun at our backs, we walked north. Along numerous bays and amidst enticingly fragrant vegetation, we passed dilapidated forts and a former dynamite factory, which now serves as a shipyard for old wooden boats. There was also a winery right on the way 🥰. Hiking was definitely a secondary priority, and watching the divers, boats, and relaxing in the secluded coves was a much higher priority 😉
