Fischleintal Loop, how harmless that sounds! We begin the tour with the bus, which takes us to the start of the loop. After a short stretch of forest path, the climb continues steadily uphill with gradients of up to 32% up to 1900 m. The magnificent view of the Sexten Dolomites takes our breath away even more than the path! The descent feels like the stairs from Cologne Cathedral, except that the scree beneath our feet requires constant eye contact with the ground, and we have to stop briefly to enjoy the still magnificent mountain scenery. At the Talschluss Hut, we reward ourselves with a large portion of Kaiserschmarrn! Dark clouds quickly gather, heralding a thunderstorm, and we set off in a hurry, barely reaching the shelter at the bus stop before it starts to rain dramatically and the lightning and thunder really start. We're glad to be back in the bus to Toblach dry! (Wanderbärchen got wet on the way because she fell into the mud during the photo session and (reluctantly) got a shower at the fountain. 😂) It was great!
The path is beautiful and not boring. There were many fallen trees blocking the way. You also had to cross a snowfield and a stream of meltwater that "blocked" the path. But it was all doable.
