How small we are in the face of these giants in the Écrins! Today we drove to the Écrins National Park together in the mobile home, found a nice, shady campsite by the rushing river and after a short lunch break we set off. Goal: https://www.quaeldich.de/paesse/pre-de-madame-carle/ I first downhill to Argentière-la-Bessée, because I wanted to do the entire 915 hm, my husband is already going uphill. The road is initially busy, according to the website https://www.paysdesecrins.com/de/incontournables-dans-le-massif-des-ecrins-deutsch/sehenswuerdständigen/die-pre-de-madame-carle-ete 150,000 (!) visitors a year ago, many for climbing. The most beautiful part begins after a small tunnel and the closer you get to the high point of the Pré de Madame Carle, the smaller you feel. We are actually at most ants in this world. My husband can be seen on all three cover photos today - suitable as a search image! At the top there is a small exhibition on the retreat of the glaciers and we also tested the refuge😋. Incidentally, the final climb was pretty steep and my husband won the Post Covid rating🏆💪
Between the long days of work in our mountain hotel Saint Roch, I like to jump on my bike. From Puy Saint Vincent I drive within an hour to Pre Madame Carle, an amazing valley with a glacier in the heart of the Ecrins Massif. I had the road, the mountains and the evening to myself. #enjoyyourevenings
