...up to Taou Blanc - my first hike above 3400 m After starting below the Colle del Nivolet, you head past curious marmots and sure-footed ibex into the high Alps. The best hiking weather - almost too warm in the sun - inspires the climb to Colle Leynir. It will be steeper, more rugged, you should be sure-footed and not afraid of heights. A small part where you have to climb through a rocky, blocked section gives the hike a special challenge. At the summit you will be rewarded with a phenomenal view of Mont Blanc, Gran Paradiso, Matterhorn and numerous glaciers in the area...my clear recommendation for a great tour in high alpine terrain - not too demanding, but a real eye-opener!!! And don't forget to ring the summit bell at 3438 m :-)
Wonderful tour: first past the blue Lago Rosset and then through a rocky desert with many different colours. The last ascent to Colle Leynir is strenuous again, as the path through stones and sand (!) leads quite steeply uphill. But it's worth it: if the visibility is good, you can even see Mont Blanc! Back the same way, at Lago Rosset you can freely choose the lake side, depending on your strength.
