This route was planned by komoot.
Do not walk the middle part, only wild growth and fields, except walk around the path, tour is medium difficult
There are various ways to observe these wonderful rock formations, but the best remains the one that involves walking the so-called “Sentiero dell’acqua Zolfina”, an easy CAI trail no. 951 of about 7 kilometers that starts and ends in Castelfranco di Sopra, and which takes its name from the small stream that flows through it with a characteristic smell of sulfur. From the route, some detours are possible, such as the one that leads to the small village of Piantravigne which offers a further panoramic view of the balze: https://www.aliperviaggiare.it/2026/04/04/il-sentiero-dell-acqua-zolfina/
In wet weather, the hike includes some muddy paths along the rock formations. The whole area is hardly developed but very worth seeing. Pure nature 👍🏼
