Amlwch Port

Highlight • Settlement

This beautiful port is attached to the larger town of Amlwch and is rather picturesque. Once a thriving commercial hub for the copper industry, today you'll see colourful fishing boats and leisure yachts moored up against its walls. You can explore the port on foot easily from Amlwch and it lies on the Anglesey Coast Path.

Point Lynas Lighthouse

Highlight • Historical Site

Point Lynas Lighthouse stands tall on a picturesque headland. A pilot station was built at the location in 1766 to guide ships from Liverpool and the present structure was built in 1835. From this spot, you are afforded lovely views out to the Irish Sea and over the coastline.

St Eilian's Church

Highlight • Historical Site

Saint Eilian's is a well-preserved medieval church. The oldest part of the church is the tower, which dates to the 12th century. The small chapel dates to the 14th century and the nave and chancel were rebuilt in the 15th century. Inside there are traces of post-medieval wall paintings, including one of a skeleton which bears the inscription ‘colyn angau yw pechod’ or ‘the sting of death is sin’ in English.
