There was a curious reason why we drove to Misurina again this evening... When we arrived at the Brückele car park this morning, a friendly auxiliary police officer pointed out to us that we didn't have a license plate on the front of the car. Oh scary!!! After we saw that the bracket was broken, we quickly realized that it could only have been lost yesterday at the Auronzo hut, where the park attendant ordered us further and further forward until we probably hit the rock unnoticed by the two of us are. We didn't notice that we lost the license plate. Back at the hotel we tried to clarify by phone whether the number plate had been found, which we were unable to do due to a lack of Italian language skills. An employee of our hotel then did it for us, the number plate was found and brought down to the toll booth, where we were able to pick it up. And since we were in Misurina anyway, we circled the lake.
After a rainy night, the temperature dropped, and it was comfortable to wear a sweater. The day was pleasant for walking. Lake Misurina is a natural Alpine lake, the largest in Cadore, located at 1,754 m above sea level in Misurina, a hamlet of Auronzo di Cadore. Its perimeter is 2.6 km and its depth is 5 meters. 🤩
Italy. Misurina. On the road in the Alps A relaxed tour around Lake Misurina, always with a view of the mountains of the Sexten Dolomites. Lake Misurina, Lago di Misurina, is nestled in the mountains of the Sexten Dolomites in the province of Belluno in Veneto. The lake is only about 5 meters deep and lies at an altitude of 1,756 meters. The lake is named after the town of the same name, Misurina, and is surrounded by the rock massifs of the Three Peaks, Monte Piana, the Cadini Group and Monte Cristallo.
After we had already completed the circuit around the 3 Peaks, we drove again to Lake Misurina in our own car. The view of the Dolomites is also breathtaking from here. The 3 Peaks also look wonderful from here. There were enough parking spaces, both paid and free. Luckily there are no tolls here yet :-)
Wednesday, Oct 13th: It was really so lonely by the lake, there were parking spaces everywhere - almost everything was closed for the winter. At the "Miralago" there was still something to eat. Many cars park at the last parking lot at Lago Antorno to save the 30, - (thirty) Euro toll to the 3 Zinnen and hike the approx. 15 minutes to the toll station.
Vacation with the parents, so there are only short and relaxed excursions. But they are no less worth seeing. 😊 It's a shame that I didn't have a komoot on yesterday when I arrived via the Felbertauernstrasse, the Obersee and the Staller Sattel - if you're not afraid of narrow serpentine roads, you can admire the amazing landscape.
We tried to see the three peaks of Lavaredo but today was not the right day🫠 never mind, we'll see if we can go back
...since we were already in the area, we ended the day by strolling around Lake Misurina 😊
