The Woodland Trails of Glencoe Lochan are a beautiful place to stretch your legs—and not just during our road trip. The path winds up and down through giant redwood conifers and blooming rhododendrons, offering magnificent views of the ridges of Beinn a' Bheithir above Loch Leven. It's particularly beautiful along the shore of the small lake, where I almost felt like I was in Canada. And that's no coincidence. The Glencoe Lochan forest was planted after 1890 by a Canadian lord to ease his wife's homesickness. Trees from Canada's Pacific Northwest were planted specifically for this purpose. All to combat his wife's depression and provide her with a haven... - pretty romantic, right? 😍
