Let’s face it, folks, not every ride needs mountains, mud, and drama. Sometimes the flat stuff delivers the goods—big league. On this calm, sunny day we rolled out on Regional Cycle Route 83, cruising north from Dunkeld to Ballinluig along the dedicated cycleway. Smooth asphalt, no stress. And then—boom—the Logierait Viaduct, a real piece of railway history, saved for us by the genius of Dr Beeching’s cuts. Believe me, not all his moves were popular, but this bridge is a winner.
The return leg on NCN 77 brought us through the quiet country lanes, pure postcard stuff. Along the way we bagged megaliths, filmed some beautiful viaduct drone footage, and tackled geocaches. Okay, full disclosure—we missed one. One geocache. But three out of four is still tremendous, folks, tremendous.
The mighty e-bike barely sipped its battery today. When you’re just gliding on flat asphalt, it’s like the energy never runs out. Fresh air inhaled, a little cardio in the bank, and once again—life lived, adventure secured.
