A merchant ship built in Bordeaux in 1771 was renamed La Victoire by the nineteen-year-old Marquis de Lafayette on March 7, 1777. He secretly boarded at Pauillac on March 25, defying the king’s orders, and sailed for America with weapons loaded at Pasajes. After a 54-day crossing, La Victoire reached South Inlet, South Carolina, on June 13, 1777. Lafayette then travelled to Philadelphia, where he met George Washington. The ship later sank on its return to France; its wreck remains near the American coast. A very beautiful old church. Concerts (choirs, orchestras) sometimes take place in the evenings, which are highly recommended.

I suspect that most people simply drive past this Christian site, first mentioned around 1050 AD, later buried by a sand dune and later re-excavated. The church's age is partially apparent, especially from the inside. And pilgrims can also get a stamp here.
