Someone – apparently quite some time ago – added this simple chapel as a highlight in the komoot system for the sport of 'mountain biking', but without posting anything about it or uploading any pictures. However, this small place of worship also exists in the sport of 'hiking', and there, there's a short explanatory text by user @Paul_C as well as several photos – albeit only exterior shots – of the chapel. Lake Sillé is located in the heart of the green forest of the same name, in the Normandy-Maine Regional Natural Park. It is possible to swim there and the site is very popular with residents of the surrounding villages. On its banks you will find campsites, dining options as well as the Maison du Lac et de la Forêt.

At the exit of the forest, the path is bordered by fields and a magnificent panorama is offered to you. Take a few moments to pause in your run and enjoy the view, (the auto-pause function of your GPS watch is made for that)!

The Chapel of La Croix-Lamare was built by a local citizen who gave it his name. He built it to repent of his sins. Only God knows what he could have done and what a contrast to today's world where we would need a building permit and where we had to respect the building regulations!
