Unlike the Blochmont, which crosses the same ridge just a little further on, this road from Wolschwiller is considerably more challenging. After a gentle start, the route climbs relatively steeply through the narrow valley. A stream flows to the right, while beautiful rock formations are often visible to the left. At the top, near the unmistakable 'Lange Matte' (Long Meadow), the terrain levels out again, and soon you're at the top.

It's just a gentle up and down. And all of this on a main road, but it's still somehow nice to roll along like that...

The former restaurant with the common and popular French name "Au Cheval Blanc" has definitely seen better days. Its location right at an intersection can't be attributed to a lack of traffic, or perhaps it was precisely that. It would be interesting to learn the history of the building.

The local carp pond in Saint-Bernard is well-maintained, including several protective structures. The cycle path runs directly alongside the pond and into the village.

A nice road which winds between the fields of mais and wheat offering a beautiful clear view of the Alsatian countryside. The road is on excellent smooth asphalt with no potholes.

The road between Galfingue and Heimsbrunn is on excellent asphalted surface with no potholes and a nice view of the Grand Ballon d’Alsace on the one side and the city of Mulhouse on the other. There can though, especially around the morning and evening rush hour increased traffic.
