Extraordinary castle in Gieboldehausen. Cool colors😀

Gieboldehausen Castle emerged from a former burgher seat of Gieboldehausen Castle, called "Haus auf dem Wall". The adjacent park with a small pond and rare trees 🌳🌴 - black pines, false cypresses and ginkgo trees - now serves as a place for recreation and leisure. A playground has been set up for children.

A cafe in an old mill with many beautiful rooms and very nice service. The cake is also very tasty. The cafe is on the Leine-Rhume-Hahle cycle path and comes highly recommended.

The castle seat of the Barons of Minnigerode, now known as the castle, used to be called "Haus auf dem Wall". From the beginning of the 16th century until 1976, the castle was owned by the family. Today it belongs to the Gieboldehausen district and - after renovations from 1987 to 1991 - is used as a registry office and for cultural purposes.

Inside there is also a very recommendable café, the Rhume-Mühlencafe. The café has a slightly larger room that can also be rented for groups and several very cozy rooms from another construction phase.

Nice bike ride around the lake, even if the tour doesn't always run directly on the shore.
