The chairlift is easily accessible and allows you to "skip" the most tiring part (about 400m of altitude difference) to get to the "Col de Varda" refuge. From there you can then continue on foot to the Città di Carpi refuge or Malga Maraia in a very easy way. If you want to avoid the chairlift you can walk up along the extremely wide and easy mule track/path.

The view you can enjoy is truly fantastic, especially if you are lucky enough to have a "stormy" day (obviously not extreme...). It could be cool (or cold) even in summer during the evening or in case of storms, so better get equipped!

The trail is really easy to follow, especially once you get past the first part from Misurina which involves a climb of about 400 meters in altitude. However, if you want, you can use the chairlift to "skip" the most tiring part. The trail is wide and safe, no special skills or preparation are needed! Spectacular views!

We climbed up from Lake Antorno. A beautiful steep path, first through forests and then along a meadow landscape up to the hut. No shower, two toilets in the whole hut, a communal sink. Internet in front of the hut. A bit sparse in terms of sockets, but charging is free. The food was OK. The hut staff were very friendly. We had our camp right under the roof, very romantic 😂

Col de Varda is the ideal starting point for numerous excursions that wind through the imposing mountain scenery of the Cadini group - on one side towards the Fonda Savio refuge and on the other towards the Città di Carpi refuge.
