The distinctive rock formation, also known as the Stone Organ, is one of the Czech Republic's most famous natural monuments. It has been protected since 1895 as the country's oldest geological protected area. The almost perfectly formed five- and six-sided basalt columns rise into the sky like the pipes of a giant organ, making the place a true geological wonder. Accordingly, it can get very crowded here, so it's best to visit early in the morning or in the evening!

Wonderful, especially in the very early morning. The Máchovo jezero or Hirschberger Großteich was created in 1366, with Emperor Charles IV himself lending a hand. The pond is located in a spring area and is fed by two streams; the Okenský potok flowing from the Čepelský rybník (Tschöpelteich) and the Břehyňský potok coming from the Břehyňský rybník (Heideteich).

Today I took a beautiful hike to the top of Vlhošť. Very nice path, sometimes quite steep. But the views are gorgeous. Especially today when there are no leaves yet and you can see through the trees into the countryside 😀👍🚶➡️. An especially beautiful section is still far below the summit. It is a rocky gap that is romantic and very photogenic.
