I got the name for this park off Google, but it's still nice to know where parks are.

Summerlyn Park is a small, well-maintained neighborhood park in Apple Valley, Minnesota, nestled within the residential Summerlyn development. It’s geared toward families and local residents, with a compact but inviting layout that includes a modern playground, open grassy space, and a short walking path loop. The park’s layout makes it a nice stop for young cyclists just getting comfortable on two wheels or for a low-key picnic ride through the area. While it doesn’t offer large sports fields or long trails, it connects easily to nearby neighborhood streets and paths—making it a convenient waypoint on a casual loop through southern Apple Valley. It’s peaceful, clean, and tucked away from main roads.

North Creek Park in Farmington, Minnesota, is a spacious, well-kept community park that's popular with both families and cyclists. The park features multiple sports fields (including soccer and baseball), a large playground, basketball courts, and a paved walking/biking loop that circles the main area—perfect for a relaxed spin or a safe place for kids to practice riding. There’s also a small pond with a surrounding trail, making it a nice spot for birdwatching or a quiet loop on foot or two wheels. Shaded picnic shelters and open grassy areas offer space to rest or eat, and the park connects easily to nearby residential streets and other small parks like Jim Bell and Distad. It’s a solid hub for a casual ride through the neighborhood greenways.

Bike trails encircle the whole lake, so there is a nice pedal around the lake in addition to paddling. They have improved the park a lot on south east side called Antlers Park. They have a nice off shoot of Lakeville Brewing Company, which has ice cream, food, beer and drinks. And West Lake Marion park has mountain bike trails and a band shell with weekly free concerts.

A great place to paddle, but the launch is on the side of the road, and the parking for it is up the hill, probably about 4 blocks away, and you aren't supposed to stop on the road to unload. So it's a bit of a hike with your boat or board, but worth it to be out there on a quiet lake. Nice retreat back at the end of the lake. The creek that you launch into can get really full of plants, so it's worth looking before you get all your stuff to the launch to make sure it's clear enough.
