Absolutely beautiful trail and this is exactly how I define a "gravel" trail. Not to rough and very few tree roots.

This section of the Bicentennial Greenway passes through Gibson Park. This is a particularly lush part of the greenway, with some wetlands mixed in, too, thanks to the nearby river.

The Bicentennial Greenway passes beneath Piedmont Parkway here. There's a small parking area that makes a great spot for starting — or ending — your run.

This is a really nice urban green-way that passes right through Winston-Salem. The views of the city are nice and there are several nice wooden bridges that you cross while on it. It is perfect for cycling, running or just walking.

Here you will find a really nice bridge that passes over Salem Creek. Although there is a trail that runs along the creek it is not often that you get a good view of it due to the thick growth around it. This spot really lets you look up and down the creek. There is also a plaque right before the bridge explaining where it gets its name and some of the history of the area. Very interesting.

This man made crossing cuts across the creek and has a nice wooden bridge on it. The views of the lake are great and looking up the creek you can see an old train bridge that I believe is still in use.
