Quiet climb to a wonderful hut. The path to the Kalser Tauernhaus is wide and easy to walk. The landscape is wonderful with many impressive views. The offer is typically regional with very tasty Kaiserschmarrn at fair prices. You have to remember that the host has to bring everything to the hut, ensure that it is managed in an environmentally friendly way and, above all, take the weather as it comes. I had excellent service from all the staff in a place in the sun and with a great view.

Subterranean! The chance of being served at all is probably 50/50. Unfortunately, today it was zero. We were "allowed" to be ignored by the landlord for more than half an hour. No chance. We sat directly in his line of sight. And that with the house empty and the outdoor area about 1/3 full. What does he do in the season? They must be living it up a bit too well. We don't need that! There are plenty of other nice and delicious inns here. But such an unfriendly troll is a real shame for the otherwise friendly holiday region.

For me, Rudolfshütte is pretty unique, at least here in the Hohe Tauern region. The hotel is located at around 2,300 meters altitude. So you not only have a guarantee of snow, but also a great starry sky on clear nights and a wonderful view of the glacier. And all this with full hotel service and sauna. Since the ski area hasn't really been developed, there are more mountain athletes up here than ski tourists and that's a great combination.

Very good cottage with helpful and nice staff. Great kitchen with delicious dishes, whether breakfast buffet or dinner in a package with half board. Highly recommended if you want to switch off or hike or look for emeralds.

The Gentian Hut (Enzianhütte) is an excellent choice for families. It features a children's playground and a petting zoo next to its beer garden, making it a fun stop for younger visitors. They also offer delicious local food.
Yes, the Rudolfshütte Mountain Hotel, accessible via cable car, provides a higher level of comfort with amenities like a self-service restaurant and opportunities to explore high-altitude peaks. It's described as almost too luxurious for a traditional hut, offering hotel services and a sauna.
For experienced alpinists, the Glorer Hut, perched at 2,642 meters, is an ideal base for various summit ascents to surrounding mountains like Glocknerblick, Medelspitze, and Kasteneck. It also serves as a starting point for the six-hour ascent of the Grossglockner via the Hohenwartscharte. Another challenging option is the Sudetendeutsche Hütte, located at 2,650 meters in the Granatspitz Range, which is the destination of a strenuous hike rewarded with stunning views.
The Kalser Tauernhaus, situated at 1,754 meters, provides clear views of the glaciers and peaks of the Glockner group amidst picturesque flowery mountain meadows. The Tröglesalm is also known as a 'dreamily beautiful' alpine hut, highly recommended for nature lovers seeking a paradise-like setting.
Paul's Alm is a rustic alpine cabin, renovated with a blend of modern and traditional design, located at almost 1,700 meters in an untouched valley. It's ideal for couples seeking a tranquil self-catering experience in a high alpine setting, featuring a double bed, kitchen-living room with a wood-burning stove, and a balcony.
