A very popular hut for hikers heading towards Triglav. Bring plenty of water. Washing facilities are limited!

The trail via Mala Osojnica to Velika Osojnica is a good choice for a longer hike. It's about a 45-minute walk along a steep forest path to Mala Osojnica, at an elevation of 685 meters, and then another 20 minutes to Velika Osojnica at 756 meters. Awesome views of Lake Bled and its surroundings, the Karawanks, the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, and the Ljubljana Basin await you. You may recognize this view as the subject of one of Bled's most famous panoramic photographs.

The stairs are really steep. Our dogs had a hard time descending and had to be carried.

Lake Bled is located in the Upper Carniola region (Gorenjska) near the spa town of Bled at the foot of the Pokljuka Plateau. The lake lies at an elevation of 475 m. It's easy to walk around the lake, and there are plenty of places to stop for refreshments! The cream cakes are an absolute must! During the summer months, it's very busy, especially on weekends! Cycling around the lake is not recommended!

On the way to Kredarica, refill your water about halfway up, it might be your last chance before reaching the hut.

Bring plenty of water and good gear. If you want to stay overnight, make reservations! It's a perfect base for climbing Triglav.
