A little bit hidden, off Cupar's main street, is Milly's kitchen, a lovely independant coffee shop (that also sell several items of local artists). Be it to sip a hot or cold drink, eat a cake, a quiche... to sit in or take away, chances are very high that you'll enjoy your visit at Milly's kitchen. Chocolate brownie & raspberry oat bar are highly recommended!! 😋😋

Very good local cake shop, but I like the old delivery van on the roof.

Yes, there is a wide variety of trails to choose from. You can find over 120 routes in the region, ranging from easy woodland strolls to more challenging hill walks, ensuring there's a path for every ability level.
The area is highly regarded by the komoot community. Hikers often praise the region's blend of lush woodlands, the dramatic gorge of Dura Den, and the peaceful atmosphere of the rural paths. The well-maintained trails and clear signage are also frequently mentioned.
Absolutely. Many trails in the area are loops. A great example is the Dairsie Tour Information loop from Dairsie. This moderate 14 km walk offers a fantastic circuit through the varied Fife countryside, starting and ending in the nearby village of Dairsie.
Yes, the woodlands and paths around Kemback and Pitscottie are generally great for walking with dogs. However, you'll be passing through areas with potential wildlife and near farmland. It's always best practice to keep your dog on a lead, especially around livestock.
The region offers many easier options perfect for a family outing. The paths through Kemback Woods are relatively gentle and provide a great opportunity for kids to explore nature. A walk along the Ceres Burn through Dura Den can also be a fascinating and less strenuous adventure.
The most notable waterfall is located within Dura Den, a stunning gorge carved by the Ceres Burn. There is a picturesque waterfall right opposite a small car park on the Dura Den road, which makes a beautiful sight and a great starting point for exploring the den.
Dura Den is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) famous for its 19th-century discoveries of Devonian-period fossil fish. As you walk through the gorge, you can see the exposed sandstone cliffs that hold these important geological records.
Yes, the area is rich in history. A unique feature is 'Jenny's Steps', a flight of 236 stone steps that parishioners from Blebocraigs once used to walk to Kemback Church. You can also see the charming, neo-Gothic Kemback Church, which dates back to 1820.
For walks exploring Dura Den, there is a convenient car park located on the Dura Den road, directly opposite the main waterfall. For other routes, starting near Kemback Church is popular, but parking is limited to on-street spaces, so please park considerately.
For some of the best panoramic views, take a detour to the summit of Clatto Hill. From the top, you'll be rewarded with spectacular vistas across the Fife countryside towards Cupar and the distant Lomond Hills.
The immediate walking area around Kemback, Pitscottie, and Blebo is very rural with limited facilities. For a post-hike meal or coffee, your best option is to head to the nearby larger town of Cupar or the village of Ceres, where you'll find a selection of pubs, cafes, and restaurants.
The terrain is quite varied. You can expect a mix of narrow country lanes, muddy woodland paths, and well-defined tracks through gorges. Some routes involve inclines to viewpoints. It's advisable to wear sturdy, waterproof walking boots, as paths can be muddy, especially after rain.
