If you arrive after Sweden’s summer holidays, be sure to call ahead. We arrived at 16:30, and though the sign for the cafe said open til 17:00, we could find no one and the telephone number listed went straight to an answering machine. A permanent camper tried to help us find someone, but he didn’t speak English. None of the other campers lent us their key for the showers/kitchen. There is a toilet with a cold water sink to use without a key. The tent pitch is beautiful, flat, great view of the lake, and close to the sanitary house (provided you get a key to it).

The condition of the trail has improved. The gravel is now compacted except in a few short spots. Great walk in the forest.

Svartälven river, winding through Värmland, offers scenic cycling routes. The bridge on the bike path entering Karlskoga provides a key crossing, with views of the river's calm flow. It's a perfect spot for a break, enjoying the tranquil landscape.

Visiting the above-ground objects, which is possible at any time during the day, is also impressive, especially when the systems are in motion, driven by hydropower. Then the principle becomes immediately clear.
