A good selection of fish specialties, in a maritime atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The newly paved cycle path is great. At the end of the section in the north, a short visit to the Rosenthaler Weg (cobblestone) via the A20 bridge towards Wismar is necessary, but then it continues. Otherwise, it is good to ride and with wonderful views of the surroundings.

The Rosenthaler Weg on both sides of the A20 bridge is a cobblestone path. With a road bike, the section is not a recommendation per se – but still doable. And given the well-developed cycle paths before and after, definitely an option.

Wismar and its fish stands are legendary – primarily because you can still get the fish right where it belongs: by the water. The Old Harbour is the heart of it all if you're looking for an authentic fish roll or freshly caught fish.

The Old Harbour of Wismar is much more than just a mooring place – it is the maritime heart of the city and one of the most authentic places on the Baltic coast. As Wismar is a UNESCO World Heritage site, the harbour has retained its historical charm without appearing like a museum village.

The Wismar harbor is famous for its authentic atmosphere, where fishing and enjoyment collide directly. If you are looking for the classic "fish from the boat" experience, you are probably thinking of the cutters at the quay edge of the Old Harbor. Probably the best-known institution in Wismar are the firmly moored cutters in the Old Harbor. Here, fish rolls and smoked fish are sold directly over the railing.
