The megalithic tombs of Northwest Germany are the most impressive witnesses of the Stone Age settlement of this landscape. They were created about 5000 years ago (Neolithic) as burial sites for several people, often used over long periods. The megalithic tombs in Northwest Germany are passage graves, usually with at least three capstones. Probably due to the abundant building material available, the burial sites were mostly built in ground and end moraine areas. In past centuries, unfortunately, many megalithic tombs were destroyed, the stones often blasted and used for the construction of roads, churches, and houses. The present megalithic tomb consists of 21 erratic boulders. The structure is 11.0 m long, 4.0 m wide, and rises 1.8 m above ground level. The largest stone is the capstone (length: 2.4 m, width: 1.8 m, height: 1.3 m). It weighs approx. 12 t. Source: Information board at the location

The color of the water never fails to draw you in. And there are plenty of blackberries along the path.
