Castelsardo - Sardinia from a picture book In the northwest of the island of Sardinia, Castelsardo sits high above the coast - a town straight out of a picture book. It envelops its visitors with all its charm, supported by old fortress walls and colorful houses. Castelsardo is part of the association of the most beautiful places in Italy, I borghi più belli d'Italia - and not without reason! Two years ago I took my MTB on vacation and went from Valledoria to Castelsardo coast coast…. A challenging route, even though I was not an expert I did it, but slowly and with the beauty of the landscape it repays the effort! On the way back I went through the state road… easier but still a state road!

Castelsardo is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It is located on the Anglona promontory and at the top of the town stands the medieval fortress. A walk to explore the alleys is recommended.

Compared to the pretty historic center of Castelsardo, this square somehow seems too modern and cool. But if you want to go up to the old town, there is almost no way around it.
