Roccia dell'Elefante / Elephant Rock (Trachyte Rock) Unique rock formation resembling a sitting elephant with ancient graves. The Roccia dell'Elefante is located east of Castelsardo on a side road. It is a trachyte rock that has been shaped into an elephant by erosion. Two years ago I took my MTB on vacation and went from Valledoria to Castelsardo coast coast…. A challenging route, even though I was not an expert I did it, but slowly and with the beauty of the landscape it repays the effort! On the way back I went through the state road… easier but still a state road!

Castelsardo is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It is located on the Anglona promontory and at the top of the town stands the medieval fortress. A walk to explore the alleys is recommended.
