The Upper and Lower Chinns Reservoirs are two small coves right next to each other at 11,100 feet. The lakes are rich in mining history with the remains of a few structures still intact. There is also quite a bit of dispersed camping around the lakes on the edge of the forest.

There is a cool, older steam engine that used to work on the nearby Narrow Gauge Railroad. The engine first ran in the 1880s and helped supply the canyon with supplies and helping hands during the mining boom.

Alvarado Open Space Park is a lightly used park even though it's super accessible. Clear creek runs through the park and both of the trails have bridges crossing the water. This creek acts more like a river, and the water will be roaring in the spring and summer months.

Tom Bennoff Lake Trail circles around the entirety of Georgetown Lake. You can fish, boat, picnic, and ice skate on the late (ice skating is of course only during the winter). The lake is easily visible from the interstate, but the trail travels through a treed area on the other side of the water.
