In the same place, there was a small manor in the second half of the 13th century. This was fortified in a tower-like manner in the 14th century. In the Middle Ages, it was expanded in a castle-like fashion, followed by further construction phases. The castle consists of two two-story, partially interlocked, rectangular building blocks. A late Gothic, chamfered round arch portal made of red sandstone has been preserved on the eastern part. Building components were removed on the south side. It is privately owned and not publicly accessible.

Every year on August 15, the Church celebrates an event that, in the (Catholic) liturgical calendar, even holds the rank of a solemnity: the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, popularly known as the "Assumption of Mary." The prayer for this special occasion in the missal reads as follows: + "Almighty and eternal God, you preserved the Blessed Virgin Mary, who bore Christ for us, from all sin and raised her body and soul to the glory of heaven. Grant that we may look to this sign of hope and consolation and remain on the path that leads to your glory."
