Bützow already had an independent post and telegraph office in 1868 (in rented rooms on the market square). After the founding of the German Empire in 1871 and the unification of the postal system under Heinrich von Stephan, the new building was constructed. Opening: October 1, 1887, as a Class I Post Office in the presence of Postmaster General Heinrich von Stephan. The Imperial Post leased the house built by the wooden shovel manufacturer Joachim Burmeister. At the same time, the telegraph service was launched.

The villa was built in 1896 as a representative residential building for the successful mill tenant Carl Propp (1834–1895). The design comes from the senior master builder Adolph Prahst (also Adolf Prahst, 1829–1919), a significant architect in Mecklenburg, who was involved in, among other things, the reconstruction of Bützow Castle and the construction of the University of Rostock. The execution was carried out by the Berlin architect J. Moll.

The hose tower belongs to the equipment house of the Bützow volunteer fire department. The tower has a typical neo-Gothic brick architecture and was classically used for drying and hanging fire hoses (after deployments, they had to be hung to dry and prevent mold). The former gymnasium (built around 1900, belonging to the former Realgymnasium) was partially adapted or demolished in 2001 for the new construction/extension of the fire station. The hose tower was preserved.

The church was built from 1765–1771 and consecrated in 1771. It is the only church building in northeastern Germany consistently built in the Reformed style (and the only Reformed church in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern). It dates back to Huguenots (French religious refugees) who were settled in Bützow from 1699 onwards. In the 18th century, a German Reformed congregation was also established. From 1771, the church served both congregations; they merged in 1778.
