The Kronenburg reservoir, also known locally as Lake Kronenburg, was built between 1973 and 1979 as a flood control basin to protect against flooding from the Kyll and Taubkyll rivers and was put into operation in 1976. The reservoir is a popular local recreation area and destination for holidaymakers, offering water sports opportunities for sailing, surfing, rowing, fishing, and swimming. A large leisure complex on the southern shore of the lake provides various play, sports, and recreational activities. It includes a park with 160 bungalows, a bathing area with a large sunbathing lawn, a sailing and surfing school, a boat rental, tennis courts, a bocce court, a miniature golf course, barbecue huts, children's playgrounds, a kiosk, and a cafeteria. Since 2010, the Kronenburg Lake Rowing Club (SRV Kronenburg See), which primarily promotes youth rowing, has also been located on its eastern shore. The Lake Kronenburg holiday park also operates an indoor swimming pool. A roughly 2.7 km long circular path opens up the reservoir to walkers. In summer, a water rope course, a climbing wall, and a trampoline are available to bathers at the reservoir, not far from the shore. Source: Wikipedia

Only vaguely visible from the Bahntrassenradweg due to the vegetation, but a beautiful reservoir.

In the Urftweiher you can admire the diverse flora and fauna. Toads are croaking, dragonflies are buzzing through the air and there is buzzing and splashing everywhere. The Urft, which has its source only a few kilometers away, feeds a veritable cornucopia of life here at the pond. (outdoor.active.com)

"The Landal campsite near Stadtkyll appears on the internet as if its world were all right. But she isn't here either. The place is closed. No info anywhere. Drowned meadows, torn power lines... We look for a secluded spot and camp free of charge on the closed site. There are well-occupied fixed camper sites above the camping meadows, so a wash house is open. The associated restaurant is publicly located on the street and so the evening meal is guaranteed. Everything good? Starry sky, suddenly it gets cold at the pond where we are still sitting in the evening. The course is almost 500 meters above sea level. Off to the tent. The coldest night of the journey is upon us. Klausen's sleeping bag corner in the tent draws water out of the ground. I put on almost all my clothes, so to speak, the entire onion, during the night, sit in the overheated toilet for a while and don't think ungratefully about this enormous waste of energy. And about light pollution; the closed square is brightly outshined by the light of the lanterns all night long. Despite it. All good." https://www.komoot.de/tour/777211898
