The Eichberg, at 452 m above sea level, is the highest elevation in the cadastral municipality of Stockern. Exactly at this point is a trigonometric point (TP 89-21) of the Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying.

In order to give summer visitors a view from Heiligenstein, the Austrian Tourist Club built the pretty “Kampthalwarte” (as it was then spelled) in the neo-Gothic style in 1897.
