Bathing Spot at Wandlitzsee

Highlight • Beach

Small, shady but freely accessible bathing area. The north shore of Wandlitzsee is otherwise completely enclosed. Here is one of the few if not the only place where you can get to the shore on this side of the lake. The lake is relatively large, so the water is still pleasantly fresh even after a long heat period. The trees stand close to the shore and fix it in a natural way. It goes about 20 - 25 meters quite flat in the water before it gets deeper. You can find place to lie down under the trees not far from the water, if you have all Kienäppel away.
Public toilets or other conveniences I did not see in the immediate area. About 150 meters away is the beach Stolzenhagen on Stolzenhagener See.

Wandlitzer See

Highlight • Lake

Strictly speaking, the largest lake in the Wandlitz lake district is called "Wandlitzer See". The lake, which is rich in fish, is hardly developed and is therefore particularly popular with nature fans in and around Berlin and various other sports.

Nice quiet swimming spot. Seems to have been redesigned: the wooden jetty has been replaced by a small staircase into the water, and the benches are also different. As the lake is large, the water is always a bit cooler than in smaller lakes nearby.

Great beach, fantastic view of the lake, benches (unfortunately too few) – you'd love to be here and relax. However, it's not entirely quiet. It's very crowded. You can swim elsewhere. The water only gets deeper very gradually, so you have to go out quite far to even swim! – ideal for children, too.

It is part of the Biesenthal-Wandlitz-Prenden lake district, which includes around 30 large and small lakes. This water landscape was created during the Weichselian Ice Age and is only around 170 metres wide, but almost 13 times as long. As the lake is privately owned, you should use the few small free spaces you can find, as most of it is fenced off and inaccessible.

The Wandlitzsee lido offers all kinds of variety: a wonderful lawn for sunbathing, crystal-clear lake water, a playground, boat and SUP rentals and diving platforms. If you want to do some sport, there are also table tennis tables and a volleyball court. A snack bar provides refreshments. You can find the opening times and admission and rental prices here: https://www.wandlitz.de/verzeichnis/visitenkarte.php?mandat=33176.
