Winterstein tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

Today's observation tower is already the third at this point and was built in 2005. You have a great view of Frankfurt, up to the Staudinger power plant in Groß-Auheim, large parts of the Wetterau and over to the Hausbergturm over Hochweisel. There are benches on the upper platform, but you can also have a picnic on the rocks in front of the tower. About 50 meters further there are two more benches with a table.

In addition to the beautiful view and the rest areas, there is another station on the Wildkatzen-Weg.

Handkäs Trail to Kapersburg

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The nature trail in the forest is well suited for MTB beginners, partly rocky, partly forest soil, fairly flat, beautiful curvy. No major steep sections, if necessary. you can push short ramps. The trail crosses several times the forest, the Wegführung is sometimes pretty hidden, as it is good if you can look on the phone in Komoot where the trail runs long.

In fact only partially a single trail 👎 More than half of the route marked here is also identical to the Handkääs Trail 😉

S1 trail (sometimes easier) as indicated. So you should have some practice, with drops, etc. there are chickenways.

Hausberg North Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Beautiful single trail running along the edge of the forest with a stuck ground without obstacles such as roots or large stones on the ground. It is therefore well suited for "just driving fast". Depending on the weather, there are some muddy spots, some of which are covered with wooden panels (as of July 2017).

The photos prove it: Here many mountain bikers prefer the wide gravel forest road (Hoffmannsweg) and ignore the beautiful marked trail 😖

If you're interested in building the trail, please contact me (bierbiker123@gmail.com). I've been building there for ages, and recently I built a new small bridge 👍

Riding on a forest road is of course more comfortable, but the trail here is great fun to ride.

Good and long trail...be careful when it's wet! Lots of leaves and in one part a forester has laid thick branches on the trail...
