Warnow Spring in Grebbin

Highlight • River

Here the Warnow rises 62 m above sea level, which then flows 155 km to Warnemünde in the Baltic Sea. Like many springs in the north, the Warnow also gushes under the pond, so you can't even see it. According to legend, the spring was under the anvil of the village smithy. It has been lovingly reproduced here. Overall, the area around the spring is beautifully designed.

Z. Arboretum

Highlight • Forest

Arboretum Crivitz is a 15-acre tree park with educational trails, display boards, and picnic areas. 132 different tree and shrub species from all over the world can be seen.

A trip to the spacious, quiet oasis on the outskirts of Crivitz is relaxing and educational at the same time: Stroll through blooming meadows and rows of trees, let your eyes wander, learn a lot about native and "naturalized" trees and shrubs.

And: There are few places where a buzzing and humming permeates the air as clearly as in the arboretum. Bees, butterflies & Co. have long since discovered the flowering areas and the insect hotel for themselves.

The path into the countryside also proves to be sonorous: An idyllic hiking trail from the end of the Freiheitsallee opens up the view of the Crivitzer See and the old town, before it goes over a small wooden bridge to the "Liebesallee": 132 small-leaved lime trees over 120 years old, in which the hustle and bustle of the bees can be heard when the linden trees are in bloom in early summer, line the path on both sides, which finally leads to the more than seven hectare site. Based on an unfolded map of the world, trees and shrubs from Asia grow in the eastern part, woody plants from Europe in the middle and America in the west. About 100 tree and 30 bush species are planted, explained and described in more detail on two nature trails. The gingko as the tree of the millennium and a primeval sequoia are also part of the stock, as are descendants of the Ivenacker oaks. The genetic material of other gnarled giant trees, which have now been designated natural monuments, is also being secured in the arboretum as part of the "Young Giants" campaign.

The arboretum is open all year round and admission is free. Guided tours are possible on request.

The Mildenitz rises at the central southern edge of the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide nature park. There its source is near Plau am See between the villages of Zarchlin.
Already about three kilometers from its starting point, the Mildenitz has developed into a sizeable stream through tributaries from small side ditches and meadow breaks. The 62-kilometer path then leads to the confluence with the Warnow near Sternberger Burg.
The nature reserve in the Mildenitzer Durchbruchtal is wildly romantic and beautiful, perfect for hiking and biking
